AVIVA COMMUNITY FUND 2019 OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES 3 BILLION VND FUNDING FOR COMMUNITY PROJECTS

On May 6th, 2019, at the British Consulate General, Aviva Vietnam Life Insurance Company Limited cooperates with the Vietnam Red Cross Society to officially kick off Aviva Community Fund 2019.

Aviva Community Fund is an important CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program of the Aviva Group and has achieved remarkable success in the UK, France, Italy, Poland, Hong Kong and Canada. Vietnam was the first country in Southeast Asia to implement Aviva Community Fund in 2017 and this is also the first CSR program based on the digital platform in Vietnam’s life insurance market.

In 2019, Aviva Community Fund continues to be implemented in 3 categories: Environment, Education and Community Health with a total funding amount up to 3 billion VND (equivalent to US $ 129,000) for 50 winning projects in 3 levels of funding: $ 1,500, $ 3,000 and $ 5,000 for each project. Different from the traditional approach of corporate social responsibility, Aviva Community Fund aims to encourage ideas from the community, encourage people to care and offer solutions to their existing issues in the local areas where they live. Aviva commit to financially support the creative initiative to come into reality with the expectation that individuals’ small actions can create great changes to the whole community.

Mr. Paul George Nguyen, CEO of Aviva Vietnam said: "Aviva believes that the local people in each community are the ones who can make real impacts to that region. And that's what the Aviva Community Fund is all about - helping communities make a big difference through small changes.”

The kick-off ceremoney also welcomed our distiguished guests: His Excellency Mr. Ian Gibbons, HM Consul General; Mrs. Luong Thi Hong Thuy – Director, Investment and Resource Development from our strategic partner – Vietnam RedCross Society; Aviva Community Fund Ambassador - MC Phan Anh and Member of Judge Pannel - Dr. Nguyen Hoang Khac Hieu.
